ArcGIS SP3 is Out

In the oh-crap-another-one category, SP3 for ArcGIS is out. That includes ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Server, ArcIMS, ArcSDE, pretty much ArcEVERYTHING. There is the standard “upgrade everything or die” disclaimer in the service pack docs:

If you use ArcIMS 9.2 or ArcSDE 9.2, you must also install ArcIMS 9.2 Service Pack 3 or ArcSDE 9.2 Service Pack 3 . For example, if you use ArcIMS 9.2 and ArcGIS 9.2 Desktop, install both ArcIMS 9.2 Service Pack 3 and ArcGIS 9.2 Desktop Service Pack 3. Since ArcIMS 9.2, ArcSDE 9.2 and the ArcGIS 9.2 products share common DLLs, it is important to keep the software release versions in sync to avoid any software conflicts.
If you were still trying to figure how to align the planets so all ESRI server and client programs were simultaneously automagically upgraded to SP2 when it was released in April, you can shelve those plans now and start working on same for SP3.

Note SP3 was out and then pulled for a while on the ESRI web site. It appears there wasn’t a problem with the first set of binaries they put out there, so if you downloaded it the day it hit the site you are probably OK to use that. *

*I’d go ahead and download it fresh anyway, as I’ve spent too many hours clearing ESRI droppings from my registry from bad installs, but from what I’ve read the first binaries were good.
