New Location Based Services from Google
Via OSnews, Google has announced a couple of new LBS offerings.
The first, Google Goggles, is for Android, and will search for and label things as you point your phone camera at them, including landmarks and stores. Alas, I’m rocking a Samsung at the moment…
The second thing they announced was that the What’s Nearby service currently running on Android would be making its way to non-Android devices. This isn’t new per se, but being able to use it outside of Android is. It’s your standard LBS where’s-the-nearest-Starbucks app.
