Back from FOSS4G
I made it to my first FOSS4G this year and, remarkably, made it back without blowing out either brain or liver. It was, hands down, the best GIS conference I have attended. My brain is still buzzing with all of the cool stuff that’s out there, all of the things coming down the pipe, and how I can apply them to all kinds of projects.
I also got to meet a lot of folks that I have a great deal of admiration and respect for. Hopefully I managed to squeeze that sentiment past my yak-like social skills. Big thank you to everyone that took time out of their crazy conference schedules to stop and say hi. Especially big thank you to all the folks that stopped to say our open source projects have helped them in some way or that offered kind words about this blog. My gut reaction to praise of any kind is a fight-or-flight response, so it might have been hard to tell this, but I really appreciate it.
